Most hummingbirds are gone during winter. This is because they transfer to the tropical states. If it happens that a bird visits you during this season, it is likely that it is genetically inferior and cannot go anyplace farther.
To grant shelter for such birds, some enthusiasts would set up prefer hummingbird feeders outside their homes, providing both food and sanctuary for the charming creatures.
