I live in a high rise apartment complex in the city. My apartment has two balconies. In the past months, I’ve noticed that a lot of birds tend to rest on my balcony ledge. I first started leaving a few pieces of rice for them to eat. After a few weeks, they kept on coming back. Today I have bird houses on my balcony ledge so that my “pet” birds can stay and eat as long as they wish.

I always thought that bird houses were for houses in the suburbs. It turns out that they can be used in the city as well. No matter how small your balcony or window ledge is, you can put a bird house there. Bird houses come in different sizes and styles. You can get one for your window as well. You might be surprised to see how many birds flock to your window or balcony when they see bird houses there.
