Ways to Clean Stain on the Carpet

Maybe you have a regular carpet cleaner. Maybe Shelby carpet cleaner does all the cleansing for you. But there will be “accidents” and you will have to act fast. It pays to know what to do when emergencies happen. When stains happen, you have to act quickly. The longer it stays on the carpet the higher the likelihood that it will stay.

Ways of cleaning stain will depend on the kind of material that caused it. For water based stains such as tea, coffee, fruit juices or wine, soak up immediately with paper towel. Re-wet the area using plain water and blot with a sponge or cotton rag. Repeat as necessary. For greasy stains such as chocolate, butter or ink, apply a small amount of surgical spirit in a cotton ball or Q-tip and apply. Start on the edges of the stain working inwards. Repeat as necessary.
