Protecting The Carpet

Since we have a huge fireplace at home, this is the one place we get to gather up especially during the winter season. The weather can really be frustrating as we cannot even move a bit. Since the temperatures are quite uncomfortable, we would usually stay in the living room the entire time. This way we can stay warm in front of the fireplace the entire time we are home.
We have had a recent mishap a few weeks back when one of the logs crackled and rolled to the carpet, causing fire. This was something that is totally unacceptable especially when we have kids in the house which we need to protect; add to that the expensive carpet we have installed in our living room area. We got ourselves large fireplace screens to keep this from happening again. This way, we need not worry of any more mishaps which can ruin the floor!
