This is a solution for homes with very little space for a flowering garden. Extend your garden by putting up window box planters. Visit your garden supplies store and you will be happy with what you will find. Window planters come in different shapes and sizes. There will be one that will fit your windows.
A window box planter can be an easy weekend project for the hubby. First you measure the window length and decide on the width and height. You are now ready to cut the wood into the required pieces:
*2 pieces the same size for the front and back, the length of these should be approximately the length of your window and the width should be the depth you want for your box.
*2 pieces the same size for the sides, the size of these should reflect the width and depth you chose for your box.
*1 piece for the bottom, this piece should be the same length as the front and back pieces and 2 inches wider than the two side pieces.
Put the pieces together, prime and apply a coat of paint. You are now ready to screw it unto your window pane.
