It is always good to start something small scale. A beginning beekeeping person might have plans of becoming a commercial beekeeper but in starting small he will learn the ropes of the trade and understand the eccentricities of bees. There are certain things that a new student of bees needs to consider. The first is to make sure that his locality has no issues about people taking care of bees in his backyard. Bees’ sting, cause allergies and it is difficult to control them 100%. Still referring to the location, make sure that there is a supply of vegetation from where they can get a supply of nectar and pollen. A constant supply of water for the bees should also be available.

Beekeeping kits are available for those who want to get a head start. These kits will vary in their contents but a standard beginner’s kit will include a complete hive of your choice and a book that will guide the beginner through the first year, the book will explain the basics of beekeeping including protective clothing and equipment. The kit will also include a galvanized smoker, jacket and veil, rubber gloves, a stainless steel hive tool and a gallon feeder. The complete process is explained in detail.
