The practice of weatherproofing a building means protecting its interiors from sunlight, precipitation and wind. It means taking steps to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy efficiency. This practice is coming to the fore at present with all the issues about global warming becoming more and more real. It means that we do not only insulate our homes to improve our energy use. It also ensures that we make use of green insulation options,
The more common insulation used in homes are fiber glass and asbestos, two materials that are proven to be unhealthy. There are now better options made from cotton or wool and things like that. Blue jeans are now being recycled to create a better option for green insulation. Since they are made of cotton, there is no danger that they will give off dangerous chemicals. They are also much easier to install.
