This chair design is composed of a single piece of fabric suspended from a light metal frame. A butterfly chair, also known as a BKF chair, is a style of chair featuring a folding frame and a large cloth sling hung from the frame’s highest points. This design has been around since the 1930’s and is popular as a portable recreational seating. They are still very much in use. The metal frame is durable and replacement covers are still available.
The butterfly chair is one useful chair to have around. It makes comfortable seating in the patio or back porch. It is something that you can pull out of storage when guests come to visit. It is also light enough to carry along on camping trips. It folds down for travel and is easy to set up when you reach your destination.
