Every person has his own taste when it comes to decorating his home. Minimalists go for the simple two to three color scheme while more the adventurous would love to explore on wildly combining different colors and different patterns. Home décor accents can be used by these two extreme groups of people. They are often used by minimalists to break the monotony of the entire theme. These are used by the more radical designers to put an emphasis on a particular concept.
Home decor accents come in different forms. Some are just there for their aesthetic purpose while some items are designed to also be functional. Decorative wall clocks, for example, can brighten up a rather boring room while making you aware of what time of the day it is. Paintings on the other hand serve no other purpose but to be an item of attraction. Whatever item you choose, make sure it will enhance your total concept, not ruin it.
