Having a new baby is very, very exciting, including choosing stuff that your little bundle of joy will use for the next few years. Nowadays, there are so many styles and options available when it comes to baby cribs. Before deciding to shop around, determine first the price range you can afford. You must also decide what features are most important to you.
Thanks to government requirements, new baby cribs are now manufactured under strict safety codes. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to make extra sure you are really buying a safe one for your little one. Be aware that a safe crib should have a firm, tight-fitting mattress, no missing/broken hardware or slats and no cutouts in the head or foot boards. Slats should further be no more than 2 3/8″ apart (the width of a soda can) and corner posts should not be higher than 1/16″.
