When you have kids in the house you need to childproof your home. You can’t be leaving everyday things that may be harmful to children lying around. Children are generally not encouraged to go into the kitchen because of all the gadgets there. Children might play with the knives and hurt themselves. This is why you place your knives in an oak knife block.

An oak knife block is this big slab of oak wood where knives are kept. There are openings or slits for knifes to go through. This prevents the knives from being used or lost accidentally. The wood is also big high and heavy, it is out of the reach of children. All knives should be placed in wood blocks and never in drawers.
