A lot of energy can be saved by just making sure that windows and doors are properly sealed. Windows should be installed correctly to avoid leaks. Hire a professional if necessary. Install curtains and draw them when the sun is shining. It will save you a bundle on air conditioning.

Energy saving tips are a-plenty where home appliances are concerned. If you live in a typical American home, your appliances and home electronics are responsible for about 20% of your energy bills. These will include the clothes washer and dryer, computers, water heaters and television. It is said that just unplugging the appliances in the home when they are not in use can mean a lot of savings. It is also said that, in the average home, 75% of the electricity used to power home electronics is consumed while these are turned off.
