Squirrels will surely be unwelcome guests in your garden. If you can’t keep them away, you might as well enjoy them. Squirrels are entertaining to watch after all. If you put up squirrel feeders, they will keep away from your plants and leave your bird feeders alone. Provide a feeding area far from bird feeders.

Squirrels enjoy a wide variety of food including sunflower seed, corn and peanuts. They can go through a lot of food so go for the less expensive feeds. Choose also feeders that are made of heavier stuff like metal. Squirrels are rodents; they like to chew to keep their teeth from growing too long. With this chewing problem feeders made of wood or plastic can be easily destroyed.
