When air is kept under a certain pressure which is usually greater than that of the atmosphere, it is called compressed air. Compressed air has a number of uses including vehicular transportation, scuba diving and air brake systems. In the home, gas dusters are used for cleaning electronic components that cannot be cleaned with water. An example is the computer. In sports, compressed air propels paintball ammunition. Compressed air is sometimes called ‘canned air”.
Compressed air maybe filled into metal tanks that can be moved around in various locations. These are called portable air tanks. Portable air tanks are brought to air filling stations to be filled with compressed air. The contents are then used for various purposes. You can use it to fill deflated bike or car tires. It is also useful in blowing clean air into something that is dusty and needs cleaning. Portable air tanks are useful tools to have around; and they are inexpensive, to boot.
